With over two million in record sales & numerous number #1 singles the band Kutless is ready to release their 7th studio album, Believer. With this release Kutless has moved into the upper echelon of bands that are anchors in the CCM scene joining a list that includes names like, Third Day, Skillet and MercyMe.

Even though this Portland, Oregon band is best known for their modern rock style of music their worship roots usually aren't too far away. Such is the case with several of the the songs that are found on Believer. The main theme found on the album is about once we accept God how does that change the way we act and react to different situations that happen in our life.

You've probably already been hearing the first single from the album, "Carry Me to the Cross" on your favorite radio station. The track is a worshipful piano ballad dealing with Christ love and power in our lives as a result of His crucifixion.

Other standout tracks include the opener, "If It Ends Today," a rock anthem about being ready for the end times. "Even If," is one of those songs about having enough faith that even though your situation may seem hopeless you're still willing to keep praising God knowing that it’s all part of His big picture. For myself I get that feeling when I hear of a young child with a deadly disease like cancer.

When that happens I find myself asking God, why does something so bad have to happen to someone who hasn't even had a chance to really live life yet? It's in those times I find myself leaning on scriptures like Romans 8:28, "And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose."

The track, "Need," deals with reaching that point in your life when you finally realize that you can't do it all alone and that God's been right there by your side the whole time just waiting for you to call out to Him. The song also features a nice rock guitar solo near the end of it. "Come Back Home," is a prodigal son themed melodic track.

The last track I would like to talk about is, "This Is Love," an up tempo guitar and drum lead track dealing with Jesus' death on the cross and His resurrection, which was and still is the most pure form of love ever known to man.

Kutless has always been a band that knows how to play music and offer up songs with some real thought behind them and they continue on that path of proven maturity with their latest release, Believer.

Believer releases officially February 28th on BEC Recordings and was produced by Grammy-nominated Chris Stevens along with David Garcia (TobyMac, Mandisa, Carrie Underwood) and Dave Lubben. Lubben also worked as producer on the bands highly successful 2009 worship album, It Is Well.
