The Grammy's are considered by many to be among the highest achievements in the music industry. Despite the prestige of the coveted award, British singer Adele, who recently won six Grammys, said she will take a lengthy break, to the shock of her numerous fans.

Millions of records sold worldwide, adoring fans, and multiple awards hasn't been enough to keep the 23-year-old singing sensation happy.

Always on the move, Adele told US Vogue Magazine that her work is preventing her from having successful relationships, and that she will take off "four or five years" from recording.

"If I am constantly working, my relationships fail," she said.

The singer's best selling album, 21, inspired by the heartbreak she experienced from her failed relationship with her 37-year-old boy friend, was highly celebrated by fans. Seemingly tired of depressing songs, the singer is looking for a brighter note.

"So at least now I can have enough time to write a happy record. And be in love and be happy," she told Vogue Magazine.

The surprising decision was brought on by the time she spent silently, while recovering from her vocal surgery, which she underwent to remove polyps.

With many of her fans concerned about the possible absence, the young singer took to her website on Valentine's Day to report her change of heart, ensuring them that she would return to recording after the Brit Awards.
