Highlight tracks from the original version of the album include, "Feel it in Your Heart," an up tempo, danceable, pop track that talks about needing to clear all of 'life's static,' out of your way so that you can get in touch with God deep in your heart & soul.
"SOS," is a rock edged track complete with steady pounding drumbeats and wailing electric guitars that drive it. Lyrically the song talks about troubled times in life with lyrics like, 'the water's rising and I need You now.'
"Your Love Goes On," is a solid mid tempo pop track dealing with not letting earthly things and pleasures get between you and God.
"New Years Day," is a catchy up tempo pop song about the new life that comes from the cleansing of sin through Jesus' blood and the start of a wonderful new life in Him.
"Hero," is a piano ballad that's all about its wonderful lyrics that deal with Jesus' death on the cross and more important His resurrection that brought hope and life to a dead world. “Hero” is one of those songs that are destined to become a classic that will be sung in churches for many years to come.
I'm not a huge club music type of person but I could appreciate a lot of what I heard on the albums 4 new remixed tracks. "Feel It In Your Heart" (Soul Glow Activatur aka Solomon Olds remix) takes the dance club techno elements that are found on several of the album's original tracks and turns it up to full volume with its get your feet moving club beats and electronic sounds.
"Live It Out" (Darren King remix) starts out with a very well done, smoking hot, fast paced drum part.
"New Years Day" (Chad Howat remix) and "Under Fire" (David Crowder remix) continue the electronic club vibe while also adding in some megaphone type vocal effects.
Abandon's Control Expanded Edition is a digital only release and is available now on all major online retailer sites, including iTunes®, Amazon.com and others.
